Please note this relates only to the 1.5km junior race and 350m fun run which are due to run alongside Devizes Half Marathon on Sunday 6th April. The half marathon will still go ahead with a modified start.
Due to the very slow uptake and support for the event, we have been unable to raise the revenue required in time to file the road closure and submit the required fees to process this in time.
Therefore, as a result we are unable to host the junior races on the road, which has not been closed.
We have looked at alternative options however this is not possible to host without a road closure and to create a positive experience, so the decision to cancel these affected races has not been taken lightly.
If you hold a current entry in either of these races, we will provide a full refund for the junior race automatically in the coming days, you do not need to do anything. The fun run entries will be cancelled since no payment has been taken for these.
We would actively encourage your support to the rest of the junior league, and encourage uptake to any other events you may be considering in a timely manner to help the hosting of the event, whether with LPS Events or any other club or commercial organiser.
